Tarlton President Tracy Hart Joins Midwest BankCentre’s Legal Board of Directors

Tracy Hart

Tracy E. Hart, president of Tarlton Corp., has been elected to the Midwest BankCentre Legal Board of Directors.

She leads the general contracting and construction management firm, which generated 2016 revenues of $171 million. Tarlton is a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise. Established in 1946, the firm is capable of managing projects exceeding $100 million for clients in the institutional, life science, commercial and industrial markets. It offers special expertise in concrete repair and restoration, power and energy, and hydro excavation.

Hart earned her bachelor’s degree in English and communication at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She serves as a board member for the Saint Louis Science Center, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, St. Louis Regional Chamber, Webster University and The Muny.

S. M. Wilson Hires Marty Yearout As Estimator, Brian Zurosky As Project Superintendent And Amy Schultz As Project Assistant/Job Accountant

S. M. Wilson & Co, has hired Marty Yearout as Estimator, Brian Zurosky as Project Superintendent and Amy Schultz as Project Assistant/Job Accountant.

Yearout is an estimator with 32 years of experience. He will be responsible for assembling cost estimates and developing constructability reviews and value engineering studies for construction projects. Yearout holds a BSBA in Business Management from Trinity University in San Antonio.

Brian Zurosky

Zurosky is S. M. Wilson’s newest Project Superintendent. He will be responsible for the day to day site management of a project including scheduling, quality and safety. Zurosky has 36 years of experience and is OSHA 30 Certified.

Schultz is S. M. Wilson’s new Project Assistant/Job Accountant. She has 15 years of experience.

Murphy Company Adds To Professional Staff

Matthew Green

Matthew S. Green has joined Murphy Company as a design/build engineer. The announcement was made by Mark Bengard, P.E., senior vice president, sales and pre-construction.

In 2013 Green earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. Since graduating, he has been employed as a controls integration engineer for a company in Indianapolis.  He holds technical certifications on numerous building automation systems, including Niagara 4, Honeywell Smart VFD, Niagara AX, Honeywell BACnet Spyder, and Honeywell Lon Spyder.

Jennifer Crawford

Jennifer Crawford has joined Murphy Company as an estimator.  The announcement was made by Bob Breth, vice president, estimating for the mechanical engineering and contracting firm.

Crawford earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012. While a college student, she served as a Healthy Community Initiatives Program Assistant for the PedNet Coalition, Inc. in Columbia.  Following graduation she worked for a St. Louis area general contractor as an estimator and as a project engineer from 2012 to 2015.  Since August 2015, Crawford has served as an HVAC estimator for a mechanical contractor in Kansas. She is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

McCarthy Promotes Andy Poirot to Project Director

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. has promoted Andy Poirot to Project Director in the firm’s Central Division.

Poirot joined McCarthy as a project engineer in 2004 and he currently serves as project director on the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Museum of Westward Expansion and Visitor Center project at the Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis.

During his McCarthy career, Poirot has worked on healthcare projects at several of the region’s hospitals, including Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon, Ill.; Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.; Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System in Mattoon, Ill.; SIH Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Ill.; SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis; and HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

“Andy’s exceptional project leadership skills are a tremendous asset to project teams and to McCarthy,” said John Buescher, president of McCarthy’s Central Division.

Poirot received his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Ill. She will be responsible for helping establish procedures with the design professionals, consultants and Owner of projects for information flow, approvals, meetings and reporting. Jackie will also track shop drawings, submittals, material deliveries and RFIs through the duration of projects and assist the Project Manager with MBE/WBE participation and workforce inclusion.

Jackie joined S. M. Wilson 10 years ago as a Project Coordinator.  She has worked on a variety of project teams building for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and most recently a public high school and fire station.  She has 22 years of construction industry experience.

Murphy Company Adds To Professional Staff

Brian A. Leger has joined Murphy Company as a project manager.  The announcement was made by Kevin M. Suiter, P.E., director of operations for the mechanical engineering and contracting firm.

With more than 11 years’ experience in the construction industry, Leger began his experience as an assistant project manager, and later, as an estimator/assistant construction manager. In 2008, he joined an engineering and fabrication Company specializing in material handling as an engineering field representative.  Since 2010, he has served as a project manager and project engineer for  a mechanical contractor, primarily supporting the Gateway Energy and Coke Company Plant in Granite City, IL.

“Brian has broad experience on projects for refineries, auto plants, steel and power plants, and large manufacturing facilities,” said Suiter.  “His training and experience are tailor-made for our industrial customers.” .

Jeff Gancarz

Jeff Gancarz has joined Murphy Company as an estimator. The announcement was made by Bob Breth, vice-president, estimating.

Gancarz has 12 years of mechanical engineering design experience producing design bid packages for various construction projects in St. Louis and across the U.S.  He holds a bachelor’s

degree in mechanical engineering from the Washington University School of Engineering. He also has served nine years as an MEP construction superintendent for a local general contracting company.

“We are pleased to welcome Jeff to the Murphy team,” said Breth.  “His experience with a number of large projects and his expertise in project engineering on pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing facilities is invaluable. His 3-D building modeling experience also is a perfect match with Murphy’s engineering platforms.”

Murphy Company has appointed Timothy H. Barton as vice president, industrial business development. The announcement was made by Joe Skiljan, vice president, heavy industrial for the mechanical engineering and contracting firm.

A 1992 graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Barton holds a bachelor’s degree in communications. For the past 18 years he was employed by Victaulic, the originator and innovator of grooved coupling technology, offering a variety of coupling sizes and styles for piping applications worldwide.  He began his career there as a territory sales manager and, later, served as a power generation specialist, calling on power plants, technology providers, engineering firms, power plants, refineries and contractors in the Upper Midwest.  Over the years he has been active in the Lignite Energy Council and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers).

Dan Harper

Harper will be responsible for managing multi-million dollar senior care construction projects. His duties include project planning, scheduling, tracking costs and maintaining logs for all project information.  He has 30 years of experience in the construction industry, and has worked on a variety of senior care, historic renovation, warehouse and commercial projects.

Harper earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.  He has an OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health and is LEED Accredited.

Byrne & Jones Construction Adds Project Manager Mike Czeschin to Its Sports Division

HOK St. Louis Adds Veteran Architect

Paul Jacob, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has joined HOK in St. Louis. A former co-owner and principal at the 15-person MayotteJacob Architects in Lansing, Mich, Jacob has more than 30 years of experience as a designer and project manager. At HOK, Jacob will direct design solutions and project management for highly complex projects in the St. Louis office.

Jacob comes to HOK from The Christman Company, a pre-construction and planning services firm based in Lansing, where he served as vice president and design director for the firm’s national development projects.

“Paul brings the perspective of designer, business owner and construction manager with a great record of uniting design and building teams to achieve the specific outcomes our clients seek,” said Lance Cage, managing principal for the HOK St. Louis office.

Notable projects that Jacob managed including Lansing, Mich.-based Accident Fund Insurance Company of America’s expansion and historic renovation, Kendall College of Art and Design’s conversion to a new, higher education facility in Grand Rapids, Mich. and Jackson National Life Insurance Company’s headquarters expansion in Lansing.

Jacob is past president of the Construction Owners Association of America-Michigan Chapter.

He earned his degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame and participated in its Rome studies program in Italy.

Asif Kadiani & Nick Zahner Join Murphy Company 

Asif Kadiani

Asif Kadiani, P.E., CEM, GBE, LEED AP, has joined Murphy Company as senior engineer, design-build. The announcement was made by Mark Bengard, P.E., senior vice president, sales and pre-construction for the mechanical engineering and contracting firm.

A registered professional engineer in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Oklahoma, Kadiani also is a certified energy manager, a green building engineer, and a LEED accredited professional.  He is a member of the editorial advisory board for HPAC Magazine and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Kadiani holds an MBA from Eastern Illinois University. He earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Bombay, both in Bombay, India.  He also took pre-engineering coursework at the University of Bombay.

Since 1993, Kadiani has worked on major projects in higher education, K-12 education, municipal and government, healthcare, military, data centers, research, communications, transportation and commercial facilities throughout the Midwest.

Nicholas (Nick) Zahner has joined Murphy Company as a safety engineer. The announcement was made by Chris Hamilton, director of safety. Zahner is a 2015 graduate of the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg where he majored in safety management. Previously, Nick served as the environmental health and safety coordinator for HarbisonWalker International where he provided safety oversight of all safety programs and policies.

Nick Walker Joins IMPACT Strategies as Director of Development & Construction Services

Nick Walker

Nick Walker has 20 years of experience as a registered architect and as a construction manager.  Walker most recently was Vice President of Development and Construction for a St. Louis-based developer and builder of senior housing properties. Walker is a registered architect in Missouri and a member of the American Institute of Architects and NCARB.  He has vast experience in all levels of senior housing projects and is a certified aging-in-place specialist though the NAHB.

A resident of Des Peres, Missouri, Walker earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture at the University of Kentucky and an MBA at Saint Louis University. He also completed the Construction Leadership Institute program at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
