IMPACT Strategies Completes Hospitality Renovations at World Wide Technology Raceway

Project marks the 5th for the firm at the raceway since 2013 with special focus on the 2022 season VIP guest experience

IMPACT Strategies has completed construction on a complete interior and exterior renovation of the Oval Tower Suites at World Wide Technology Raceway. The project encompassed improvements to the entire building, including the rooftop viewing experience and was part of the multi-million-dollar renovation plan for the track leading up to the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series race that took place on June 5, 2022.

“Offering our corporate clients an exceptional hospitality option to entertain customers and employees within the broader NASCAR Cup Series race environment will be a one-of-akind experience,” promises Curtis Francois, owner and CEO, World Wide Technology Raceway.

The renovation delivered a sleek, modern aesthetic with high-end finishes throughout the 28 private suites and the rooftop fan viewing area, which offers an exhilarating perspective over the track between turns one and two.

IMPACT Strategies is most pleased in celebrating the promotion of Mike Michael from Senior Project Manager to Project Director.

Mike joined IMPACT Strategies in 2005 as Project Manager. In his 17 years with IMPACT, he has served the firm in various roles, most recently as Senior Project Manager. Mike has managed multiple complex projects throughout Missouri and Illinois, including most recently The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois and the Siteman Cancer Center in Shiloh.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign and is a LEED Accredited Professional through the U.S. Green Building Council. He is also a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) through the American Hospital Association. “Mike has been integral in making IMPACT Strategies the firm it is today,” said President, Mark Hinrichs.

Firm named one of Ameren’s top prime suppliers in diverse business spending.

IMPACT Strategies was recently recognized by Ameren as a top supplier partner in diverse business spending. Ameren recognized firms reporting greater than 25% of total expenditures with diverse suppliers. IMPACT Strategies was one of twelve area firms named to this list.

This recognition comes as IMPACT Strategies boosts its efforts to build sustainable MBE/WBE partnerships throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. To that end, the firm is proactively building strategic relationships with qualified, established MBE/WBE firms, and hosting meet-and-greet events to assist them in forging relationships with other established majority firms.

IMPACT Strategies has also hosted outreach/workshop mentoring and entrepreneurial programs in cooperation with the Illinois Office of Minority Economic Empowerment along with officials of the Illinois Small Business Development Council for the Metro East. IMPACT Strategies Establishes Charitable Foundation

The Making an IMPACT Foundation supports local community organizations.

IMPACT Strategies has established the Making an IMPACT Foundation – a charitable foundation that supports the local community with an emphasis on assisting non-profit organizations that focus on equipping and improving people’s lives.

The Foundation’s mission is to support and engage employees of the IMPACT Strategies team to embrace the community and others by investing their time, talent, and resources.

IMPACT Strategies has supported local community organizations including BackStoppers, Hard Hats for Hearts (American Heart Association), Boy Scouts of America, Pedal the Cause, Restore St. Louis, and others. The Making an IMPACT Foundation will concentrate on assisting families in need, aiding disaster relief efforts, supporting first responders, and helping veterans.

Among the plans for 2022, the Foundation will hold an annual fundraising event, donate to local charities, and to provide opportunities for IMPACT Strategies employees to volunteer time toward causes that support the Foundation’s mission. Additionally, donations will be made by the Foundation in honor of each employee’s service anniversary to the charity of their choice.

The Making an IMPACT Foundation Steering Committee is comprised of five IMPACT team members who lead the efforts of the Foundation in fulfilling its mission. The committee meets monthly to plan and develop activities and events to facilitate fundraising and to expand the reach of the foundation. “Establishing the Making an IMPACT Foundation has been a longtime goal of IMPACT Strategies, and it’s exciting to see it come to fruition,” said Hinrichs. “I’m proud of the work that IMPACT Strategies does to support our community, and the Foundation allows us to take those efforts to the next level.”

IMPACT Strategies Receives City of Fairview Heights Economic Impact Award

Firm is one of three recipients of the award through the Fairview Heights Business Alliance Commission.

IMPACT Strategies is proud to announce the firm has received the Economic Impact Award from the City of Fairview Heights and the Fairview Heights Business Alliance Commission (BAC). The firm is one of three local recipients of the award.

The inaugural award recognizes local businesses that have made exemplary contributions to the economic health of the community. E Brown Bakery and Tree of Life Childcare Center were also recognized.

IMPACT Strategies was recognized for their efforts in mentoring new business startups, as well as proactively utilizing minority subcontractors on local projects.

In addition to the firm’s contributions, the award also recognizes the efforts of IMPACT Strategies president, Mark Hinrichs. Hinrichs has been a leader in the formation of the Career Pathways of Southern Illinois program, which is a construction workforce development organization focused on the outreach and recruiting of women and minority candidates into pre-apprenticeship training. Hinrichs also serves as an advisor to the Metro East Business Incubator, which provides educational support and mentorship to local entrepreneurs.

The buildings mark the firm’s 7th project at the park. Fairview Heights, IL – April 20, 2022 U.S. Capital Development (USCD), the developer behind Fenton Logistics Park, has awarded IMPACT Strategies the construction of two new buildings at the park, located along Interstate 44 near the I-270 interchange in Fenton, Missouri. The two spec warehouse buildings, known as Buildings 6A and 6B, will be constructed simultaneously. IMPACT Strategies will serve as the construction manager.

Building 6A is 125,000 square feet; 6B is slightly larger at 160,000 square feet. Both will be Class A industrial buildings comprised of concrete and steel construction. In addition to managing the building construction, IMPACT’s responsibilities include site development for earthwork, utilities, parking lots, landscaping, and more. The buildings are scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2022.

IMPACT Strategies project manager Travis Schwartz said, “We are thrilled to once again be working with the team at U.S. Capital Development on these latest additions to Fenton Logistics Park. USCD continues to bring businesses and jobs to the area, and the IMPACT team is excited to be a part of that growth.”

The redevelopment of the former Chrysler Plant reflects a transformation of a brownfield site into a state-of-the-art industrial and commercial development. Upon completion, the Fenton Logistics Park will total more than 2.5 million square feet of development with a value in excess of $250 million.

IMPACT Strategies General Superintendent Frank Malone Awarded GC Field Employee of the Year by ASA Midwest Council Fairview Heights, IL – April 18, 2022 IMPACT Strategies is proud to announce that General Superintendent Frank Malone received the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) Midwest Council’s GC Field Employee of the Year award at the Council’s Neon Awards Gala, held April 9 at the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis.

ASA members nominated and cast votes for the award. The GC Field Employee of the Year award goes to the field employee that consistently goes above and beyond, fostering strong relationships and creating successful partnerships between subcontractor and general contractor.

Frank demonstrates excellence through his ability to genuinely connect with both subcontractors, tradesmen, and clients. He has an effective and contagious work ethic that unites his team and demonstrates strong character.

Frank Malone has more than 22 years of experience in the construction industry. He joined IMPACT Strategies in 2016 as a superintendent and has been a valued team member on several of the firm’s local projects including Hofbräuhaus St. Louis–Belleville, Ameren IL operation centers, Covenant House Missouri, Altair at the Heights in Richmond Heights, and 2200 LaSalle at the Edge in Lafayette Square. Malone was promoted to General Superintendent in 2021.

Travis Schwartz, project manager, and Jordan Grant, senior project engineer at IMPACT Strategies have recently completed in-depth continuing education courses to further their construction knowledge and enhance IMPACT’s client services.

Travis Schwartz completed the Project Manager Academy through Fails Management Institute (FMI) in Raleigh, NC in February. The four-day intensive training focused on topics such as: project planning, customer-focused construction, field productivity, and ethics and integrity. Schwartz said, “I enjoyed the hands-on learning and working as a team with different groups of people. I also developed relationships with other project managers from across the country as we learned new methodologies and best practices to take back to our firms.”

Jordan Grant

Jordan Grant graduated from the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) Construction Leadership Institute in March. The nine-week annual program, attended by the area’s top emerging leaders, provides valuable knowledge and skills to tackle the modernday challenges of the construction industry. Grant was recommended and sponsored by IMPACT to participate in the Institute as a part of his continued education and growth within the company.
