City of St. Charles Hires New Public Works Director

The City of St. Charles is proud to announce the addition of Jim Wright to the staff of the City of St. Charles, as public works director.  Wright comes to the City of St. Charles from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) where he was most recently serving as area engineer for St. Charles County.

Wright, joining the City of St. Charles in this role, comes as part of the City’s effort to restructure the Public Works Department into two departments, the Engineering Department and the Public Works Department.

During his time at MoDOT, Wright filled several roles that had him working with district and statewide planning staff to identify and prioritize area needs, as well as align the planning process with statewide goals and resources.  Wright also served as the direct liaison for media, civic groups, business leaders and the general public, as well as federal, state and local officials.

“I am very excited to join the team at the City of St. Charles,” said Wright.   “St. Charles is a great community where there is a lot of growth and many exciting projects happening.   I believe my experience will complement the wonderful staff that is in place, and I look forward to working with everyone in helping to continue to move St. Charles forward.”

Wright received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla.  He is licensed as a professional engineer in the state of Missouri.
