Since March of 2020, the AGCMO Design & Construction Technology Conference Advisory Committee has been coordinating (and re-coordinating) the Annual Design & Construction Technology Conference (DCTC) and finally determined to move the event into the fall of 2021. This was in collaboration with many of our sponsors and exhibitors (see list at the end of this article) who have moved with us, as well as our venue, the Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC).
In lieu of the conference this year, the DCTC Advisory Committee set out to develop an open virtual event for the fall of 2020 to address the current issues and trends involving technology use in the Project Lifecycle. Members of the advisory committee who were previously track leaders for the conference in the focus areas of Planning & Design, Precon & Construct, Handover & Operate, and Strategy will address current technology issues and trends in a virtual panel discussion, as well as host a Q&A discussion involving attendee questions and feedback in real time. To register, refer to the link at the end of this article.
The advisory committee coordinated this virtual event to help keep communication alive in our region regarding the utilization of best practices, as well as major issues currently faced by the AEC technology community. The discussion will include common thread topics like project delivery best practices in all phases of the project lifecycle and best innovations seen thus far by our subject area specialists, as well as more focused topics for each phase of the lifecycle and the backgrounds of our panelists. Of course, the chat will be open throughout for gathering questions from attendees for our panelists to address, as well. What we are looking to provide for attendees is an opportunity to learn and share what is working best right now.
Special thanks to our moderators and panelists and to the DCTC Advisory Committee for their dedication to moving the DCTC forward and for developing this virtual event.
