Drone Workshop Planned for June 6th

A one-day workshop on drones and their application to construction, engineering, and related work will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at the offices of Geotechnology, Inc., (11816 Lackland Road, Suite 150) in St. Louis.  The workshop is sponsored by the Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists St. Louis Chapter.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide an overview of the technical capabilities of drones, especially as they apply to construction, engineering, and related work.  It is also to introduce the legal and insurance requirements for drone use for research and commercial purposes.  This workshop is not intended to ready the participants for the FAA licensing exam.

Instructors for the AEG Drone Workshop will be Dr. Paco Gomez, from the University of Missouri – Columbia; Dr. Damon Lercel, UAViation LLC; and Dr. Richard Steckel, UAViation LLC.  Cost of the workshop is $175, which includes a box lunch.  A minimum of eight participants are needed.

A similar workshop is planned for Tuesday, June 27, in Edinburgh, Ind., which is about 30 miles south of Indianapolis.
