The Americans with Disability Act requires building owners to provide access into and out of facilities. The St. Louis Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) will review the ADA’s key issues to ensure facilities meet the act’s regulations.
Matt Lescher, director of accessibility services for Code Consultants Inc., will review key ADA issues that impact commercial facilities. He will provide a history of accessibility codes and discuss the key areas that must be addressed in any facility. These areas must have accessible routes through doors, stairs, ramps, elevators and any changes in elevation. Additionally, Lescher will highlight the most significant changes in accessibility requirements whether entering or leaving a building.
