The St. Louis Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) will hold a virtual discussion on disinfecting and operating a facility during these challenging times.

John Pieske, president and CEO of ABBCO Service Corp., will explain how to properly disinfect facilities before opening and ongoing cleaning solutions to better ensure the health and safety of employees and visitors.

Since the Great Recession there has been a progressive change in the (Scope of Work) for many Custodial Services. The movement may have been referred to as (Skip Cleaning or Healthy High Performance Cleaning.) The goal was to reduce the frequency of cleaning tasks in a facility up to the point of not noticing a difference in visual cleanliness. The end result was to save money but it also had consequences in that we all should be cleaning for HEALTH.

As we all are faced with the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to consider how to properly disinfect our facilities for Re-entry and Ongoing Operations. The days of having a custodian manually wipe all surfaces with a microfiber rag and disinfectant are coming to an end. This method is a timely and costly process that is not always administered correctly. There could be cross contamination with the use of the rag, the cleaning process is slow and the dwell time of the disinfectant may not be sufficient for the product to sanitize properly.

Please join us to learn about the latest technology to disinfect your facilities. Electrostatic Disinfection Spraying is a fast, effective and safe process to help protect your employees and visitors. It may be used for official COVID-19 disinfection services and also as a preventative spraying program. We will explain how the process works, the types of equipment used and why this new technology needs to be part of your Custodial program moving forward.
