Your company has a unique story – do you know it? Effectively communicating your firm’s story and value proposition is crucial to a company’s success and future growth. Join us for a morning with leading local consultants to discover how your firm’s unique story can be leveraged to attract clients and improve your presentation skills.  Also, you will learn ways to captivate your audience with video.

8:30-8:45am:  Registration, networking and breakfast

8:45-9:35am:  Why Does Your Customer Buy from You? The Value Proposition Canvas
by Ed Mayuga of AMM Communications
All too often, we get “hung up” on marketing to customers and making certain that we are visible in multiple locations (meetings, trade shows, etc.).  However, how often do we systematically think about why a customer purchases from us? Why should they buy from you? The Value Proposition Canvas is a systematic way to look at the solutions you offer to solve a customer’s problem. It is a way to focus your marketing efforts to get a potential customer to know, like, and trust you and your brand. This presentation will also look at sources for social proof that help form a customer’s opinion of your brand – traditional PR (earned media), digital media, and social media marketing.

9:35-10:25am:  Tasty Little Bites: Creating Deliciously Short Videos That Clients, Prospects, and Selection Committees Will Gobble Up
by Amanda Aschinger of Solstice Productions, Inc.

“Today’s internet is built on video.  Much more difficult to create well, far more impactful when it works.” – Seth Godin
This year, over 70% of all online traffic will be spent watching videos.  But, as online marketing guru Seth Godin so wisely states, video is much more difficult to create well than written forms of content.  The time, the team, the talent.  Not to mention the equipment – 4k, 3D, Creative Cloud, lights, lenses, camera, ACTION!  Oh, and did we talk about that most important element?  The Story! Learn how trends in video marketing can impact your business.

10:35-11:30am:  The Art & Science of Storytelling
by Andy Likes of The Vandiver Group, Inc.

Stories move people!  There is a reason you remember school, vacation or family stories from when you were younger.  There is a reason you remember exactly where you were when the Space Shuttle exploded, when the first plane hit the World Trade Center or when your favorite team won a championship.  Positive, negative or neutral, the right story can be engaging and most importantly, it can be memorable.  This session will explore how to find your business/organization’s story and how your subject matter experts can be memorable.  From best practice examples to fine-tuning the words that maximize the potential for success, this session will walk you through the art and science of storytelling.
