Transforming Workplaces for the Next Generation of Talent

March 8, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

For over a decade, we’ve heard about Millennials – or Gen Y – entering the workplace and posing new challenges to their managers. Now, with older Millennials turning 35, we are on the cusp of a new generation entering the workforce – Gen Z – and they have even more evolved attitudes towards technology, flexibility and sharing. Research suggests that next to competitive salary and benefits, this new generation of talent are more likely to accept a job with an organization that provides workplace flexibility and other “perks” than those that don’t. How should facility managers start preparing their workplaces today to attract and engage the next generation of talent?

Teresa Bridges, Associate Vice President and Senior Workplace Strategist, and Ken Crabiel, Associate Vice President and Architect,  with CannonDesign, recently presented their insights at IFMA World Workplace on creating a workplace experience that attracts new talent. In this session, they will highlight the unique workplace expectations of Gen Y and Gen Z from recent survey data and interviews, including insights from high school and university design and several workplace transformation case studies. This session will also include key strategies for facility managers that want to start engaging in this conversation with senior leadership.
