Kwame Building Group, Inc. has been a huge part of the successful Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation at St. Louis Lambert International Airport and in the community. In recognition of their exemplary accomplishments, Kwame’s Chief Executive Officer Tony Thompson was presented with the Business Diversity award for Construction Services during the Business Diversity Forum on March 31.
Kwame is MBE/DBE certified and has played a major role in most of the construction work performed at the Airport. They were a joint venture partner on the team that was responsible for managing the design and construction of the recent Airport expansion project. The firm has also had construction management responsibilities on a number of projects at the Airport through the years.
Kwame has had an enormous impact in achieving diversity and inclusion on major projects in the greater St. Louis community as well. They served as the construction management firm responsible for monitoring and reporting DBE participation on the $33 million Central Riverfront Project of the City Arch River renovation at the Gateway Arch. This project was a true DBE success story, with Kwame reporting more than 50 percent DBE participation.
