Haberberger Welcomes Alyssa Predico As Process Piping Designer 

Predico, AlyssaAffton-based mechanical contracting firm Haberberger, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Alyssa Predico, of Ballwin, to its growing team. In her new role, Predico will serve as a process piping designer.

Predico’s background includes five years of process piping experience in the oil refinery industry. She most recently served as a designer with Ambitech Engineering. In her new position with Haberberger, Predico specializes in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting and Building Information Modeling, working with other members of the team to create the most cost-efficient and state-of-the-art project designs.

Predico, who originally hails from Louisiana, holds an Associate’s degree in Drafting from Delta Tech in Louisiana.

Haberberger, Inc. is a 68-year-old mechanical contracting company that offers complete HVAC installation, customized maintenance programs, process piping and piping fabrication, and refrigeration and energy management services.

Abby Buchmann Joins HOK’s St. Louis Office as Design Professional

Buchmann, AbbyAbby Buchmann has joined HOK as a design professional in St. Louis. In her new position, Buchmann will provide support for the interior design team working on FleishmanHillard’s executive offices.

Buchmann recently earned her master of architecture and product design degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

HOK is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm celebrating 60 years of design and innovation in 2015.

Tarlton Promotes Cameron Denison to Senior Project Manager 

Denison, CameronTarlton Corp., a St. Louis-based general contracting and construction management firm, promoted Cameron Denison, LEED AP, to senior project manager. Previously serving as project manager, Denison has worked on several notable projects, including the $90 million,175,000-square-foot LEED Gold Olin Business School expansion at Washington University in St. Louis (Knight and Bauer Halls), which won the firm one of the construction industry’s highest honors– a 2015 Alliant Build America Award. The project also was named a finalist for a 2015 Construction Keystone Award by the Associated General Contractors of Missouri.

Denison is on the Tarlton construction management team on two separate projects at University of Missouri Columbia. Denison joined Tarlton as a project engineer in 2001. He earned his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional designation in 2008, granted by the U.S. Green Building Council based on demonstrated knowledge and experience related to sustainable building design, construction and operation.

Denison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Geotechnology Promotes Buffy Flemming to Marketing Manager

Fleming, BuffyGeotechnology, Inc., a leading provider of geotechnical and environmental engineering, geophysics, water resource management, materials testing and drilling services, has named Buffy Flemming as the company’s Marketing Manager.

In this role, Flemming will manage marketing activities company-wide, including efforts related to public relations, advertising, the company website, marketing materials and tradeshows.

Flemming has been with Geotechnology since 2011, and as Marketing Coordinator has been instrumental in developing company branding efforts, establishing the Geotechnology intranet and social media involvement. She has been active in The Society of Marketing Professional Services and held the position of Education Director in the local chapter.

Gabrielle Clay Joins HOK’s St. Louis Office as Project Accountant

Clay, GabrielleGabrielle Clay has joined HOK as a project accountant in St. Louis. In her new role, Clay will work with the corporate accounting team and regional offices to maintain accurate and timely accounting records.

Prior to joining HOK, Clay was a corporate accountant at a local real estate services company. She earned a degree in mathematics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Clay currently resides in Florissant.

Paola Badea joins Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a Junior Architectural Designer 

Paola J. Badea, Assoc. AIA has joined Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a Junior Architectural Designer. In her role, Paola creates 2D and 3D visuals for presentations, drawings and elevations using architectural software. Additionally, she assists with project design development. She is currently working on 3D Model Renders and 2D site plans for Centre College’s new Soccer Field. Prior to joining the firm, Paola worked as a designer at Graniterra and MOMA Consulting Group.

Paola earned her bachelor of architecture from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. She is an Associate Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a prestigious nonprofit, nonpartisan research and education organization that brings together professionals in all sectors of real estate development and land use from all over the world.

Laura Lancia Joins Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a Marketing Coordinator

Lancia, LauraLaura Lancia has joined Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a Marketing Coordinator. In her role, Laura will assist the Marketing Department with updating the company website and social media sites, conducting market research, maintaining marketing collateral, as well as preparing statements of qualifications and request for proposal responses. Additionally, she will update lead tracking and contact databases and help coordinate trade shows and conferences.

Laura has more than eight years of marketing experience at companies throughout St. Louis. She holds a B.A. in communication with a minor in marketing from Saint Louis University.

Darryl Vandever joins Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a Contract Administrator

Darryl Vandever, CSI, CDT has joined Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a contract administrator. In his role, Darryl will ensure the firm’s quality, performance and aesthetic standards for built projects. He is currently working on the new Saint Louis University Residence Hall and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcon Center.

Darryl possesses a wide range of experience managing a variety of building types and construction delivery systems and provides our clients a unique perspective having worked for architecture firms, general contractors, real estate developers and as an owner’s representative. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture and Design from Kansas State University in 1986.

Catherine Elz joins Hastings+Chivetta Architects as Human Resources Director

Catherine Elz has joined Hastings+Chivetta Architects as the Human Resources Director. In her role, Catherine is responsible for employee relations and communications, benefits, recruiting and retention, and company culture, among other tasks. Catherine will be instrumental in helping the firm continue to recruit and retain the best talent. Prior to joining Hastings+Chivetta, Catherine worked at American Direct Marketing Resources.

Catherine earned her bachelor of arts in English from Truman State University in 2000 and graduated from New York University School of Law in 2005. She volunteers as a Running Buddy with Stray Rescue of St. Louis and serves on the Board of Directors for Left Bank Books.

Eaves Promoted to Principal at McClure Engineering

Eaves, ErikPreviously serving as Project Manager, Mr. Erik Eaves has been promoted to Principal at McClure Engineering.  As the firm’s pharmaceutical expert, he has project managed and designed many technical cGMP/FDA regulated facilities ranging from research laboratories and cleanrooms, to cGMP production suites. Mr. Eaves is also a member of ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.10 and assisted in writing the second edition of the ASHRAE Laboratory Design Guide.

McClure Engineering welcomes Karl Bratcher, PE who joins the team as a Mechanical Engineer. Karl received his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology and has spent the last three years working as a Mechanical Engineer for Abeinsa Business Development. Prior to Abeinsa, Karl worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Bechtel Power Corporation and as a Mechanical Engineer Intern for Kiewit Power Engineers.

Joel Vidlak Joins Kadean Construction Company

Vidlak, JoelJoel Vidlak, formerly of Lincoln, NE, has joined Kadean Construction Company, one of the region’s oldest and most successful firms specializing in pre-construction, design-build, construction management, and general contracting, it was announced recently.

Before joining Fenton-based Kadean, Vidlak served as a project manager with Dickey-Hinds-Muir, Inc. in Lincoln, where he was engaged in more than a half-dozen major construction projects for a variety of clients, including the State of Nebraska Development Center, Nestle Purina PetCare, University of Nebraska, Lincoln Electric, the State of Nebraska Division of Behavioral Health, and others.

Vidlak, who earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, will serve as the project engineer for Kadean work already underway at Red Cedar Surgery Center in East Lansing, MI, and Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO.

“We’re very fortunate to have Joel on our team,” said Mike Eveler, president of Kadean Construction. “The value Joel brings will really come into play as we continue our growth and expansion throughout the St. Louis and Kansas City areas and in other markets across the country.”

In addition to the two projects being overseen by Vidlak in Michigan and Farmington, Kadean’s most recent work in the region includes the expansion of the medical oncology unit at the Siteman Cancer Center, now underway in St. Peters, MO; Aviator Park in Hazelwood; Lakeview Commerce Center Distribution Center in Edwardsville; and, the KCI LogisticsCentre in Kansas City, MO.

Emily Pelcak Promoted to Director of Practice & Innovation at PGAV

Pelcak, EmilyPGAV Destinations Project Manager Emily Pelcak has been promoted to Director of Practice and Innovation at the St. Louis-based design firm.

In her new position, Ms. Pelcak will be fostering staff training and development, researching and encouraging innovative design, and implementing quality design documentation practices to cultivate PGAV’s technical expertise in building construction practices.

Her diligence and success in project management can be experienced at Aquatica Orlando, the Biltmore Estate’s Antler Hill Village, SeaWorld San Diego’s Explorer’s Reef and Manta, Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s Verbolten, and the Anheuser Busch St. Louis Brewery.
