KAI Design & Build hires Jeremy Lammers as Senior Project Manger
Jeremy Lammers recently joined KAI Design & Build as a Senior Project Manager.
Lammers has more than 12 years of experience in the construction industry, including project management, estimating, and business development.
Lammers holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Lammers is OSHA 30-certified and is a LEED AP Professional certified through the US Green Business Council.
Lammers is active in Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), SIUe’s CLI Program Board Member, Missouri Society for Healthcare Engineering, St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers and St. Louis Forum Young Leaders.
As Senior Project Manager, Lammers will organize projects from start to finish, and will be responsible for the oversight and management of costs, schedule, and subcontractors on these projects, as well as communication with owners and their stakeholders.
KAI Design & Build Welcomes William G. McCuen Jr. as Design Director
William G. McCuen has joined KAI Design & Build as Design Director. A registered architect and certified LEED AP Professional through the US Green Business Council, McCuen brings more than thirty years of project management experience to KAI Design & Build and holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Washington University, and has participated in continuing education classes at Harvard University.
Prior to joining KAI, McCuen served as principal in large international Architecture/Engineering and Construction (AEC) firms with focus on contextually-sensitive sustainable design and urban development. He led multicultural implementing teams for the United Nations in Afghanistan and Somalia, and was the Architecture and Project Management Department Manager for an A/E firm in Kuwait.
McCuen plays an active role in the pursuit, implementation and creative direction of projects in all of KAI’s markets and KAI’s St. Louis and affiliate offices in Texas, Nebraska and Georgia. McCuen’s responsibilities include managing the creative design process by working with KAI’s group of professionals to ensure all current designs meet the creative requests of our clients while adhering to the necessary programming and critical requirements.

KAI Design & Build hires Chris Mazurek as Business Development Manager
Chris Mazurek is the new Business Development Manager at KAI Design & Build. He has more than three decades of experience in the construction industry, including project management, estimating, and general contracting, and more recently, sales strategies, client services, and business development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Bowling Green State University and is active in Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), International Facilities Management Association, St. Louis Regional Chamber, Habitat for Humanities Development Council and the Association for Corporate Growth.
“Chris has a diverse background in construction, technology and business that has proven successful,” said KAI Design & Build President Michael B. Kennedy. “So we look forward to him strengthening our pipeline in the build industry.”
As Business Development Manager, Mazurek will work to further KAI’s market position through developing new owner relationships and generating new construction leads. Chris will also identify potential business opportunities in addition to negotiating project contracts for KAI’s St. Louis and affiliate offices.
Mazurek, a native of Boston, Massachusetts and has been a private pilot for over eight years.

ACME Constructors, Inc. Names Jerry Harmon Vice President of Operations
ACME Constructors, Inc. has promoted Jerry Harmon to vice president of operations. Harmon has more than 20 years of experience in commercial and industrial projects and previously served as a senior project manager for ACME. ACME specializes in structural steel erection and general construction assignments for large and small customers in 18 states.
In his career, Harmon has served as project manager, superintendent, general foreman and foreman on many industrial and commercial projects for large and small businesses. Among the companies he has served are Anheuser-Busch InBev, Monsanto, Metal Container Corp., Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Co., Ameren, Nestle Purina, Hershey and ICL. Harmon is engaged in a number of community endeavors including Sunday Night Lights,Step Up St. Louis and the St. Baldricks Foundation.

Aubrey Hawley Joins HOK’s St. Louis Office as Project Administrator
Aubrey Hawley has joined HOK as a project administrator in St. Louis. In her new role, Hawley will support the team working on the BJC HealthCare Washington University School of Medicine Campus Renewal project. Before joining HOK, Hawley was an administrative assistant for the city of O’Fallon. She earned her degree in English from Truman State University in Kirksville.
HOK is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.

N.B. West Contracting Co. has named Jim Fitzgerald president of the company. Owner Larry West will become CEO /chairman of the board. West is celebrating its 60th year in business as an asphalt paving and concrete contractor serving the east central Missouri region. They specialize in commercial, municipal, and DOT paving projects. With three asphalt plants in the region, West also supplies the paving industry with quality asphalt products.

Nicholas Wester Joins HOK’s St. Louis Office as Landscape Design Professional
Nicholas Wester has joined HOK as a landscape design professional in St. Louis. Wester will be an integral part of the landscape architecture group and joins the project team working on the Davidson County Justice Center project in Nashville, Tenn.
Wester earned his degree in landscape architecture from Texas Tech University and his masters in landscape architecture from Texas A&M University. He was a 2016 recipient of the ASLA Student Merit Award at Texas A&M. Nicholas Wester is a resident of downtown St. Louis, MO. HOK is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.

Barry Oliver joins Hastings+Chivetta Architects as Contract Administrator

Barry Oliver, AIA, has joined Hastings+Chivetta Architects as a contract administrator. In his role, Barry will assist with the quality control review process and representing clients’ interests during construction. Barry has developed a thorough knowledge of specifications, building codes and construction contracts as well as the design and construction process through his work as a contract administrator, architect and project manager for over 33 years. His experience provides him with the ability to lead project teams from the bidding stage of a project to completion. He is currently working on Cor Jesu Academy’s student commons and performance gym and Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School’s new natatorium and stadium.
