Darrell Fielder of Augusta, MO, has joined McGrath & Associates as field safety supervisor. Fielder has five years of experience in the construction industry and has a Bachelor of Science in Safety Management from the University of Central Missouri. Fielder is ASP and OSAH 30 certified.
KAI Design & Build Welcomes Michael A. Scott, RA as Senior Project Architect

Michael A. Scott, RA has joined KAI Design & Build as a Senior Project Architect. Scott is a registered architect and brings more than twenty years of experience to KAI.
Scott is responsible for the production of construction documents and assists in the completion of design development documents. Scott also takes a leadership role as a liaison between clients and KAI’s multidisciplined team to ensure the successful execution of the construction-related documents during a project’s various phases. Scott holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Kansas State University.

Annie Webb joins Hastings+Chivetta Architects as Administrative Assistant

Annie Webb has joined Hastings+Chivetta Architects as an Administrative Assistant. In her role, Annie will support the Director of Business Development, the firm’s regional offices as well as the Marketing Department. Annie is a highly-organized and thorough professional with extensive experience in the areas of relationship, data and financial management. She previously worked at Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School.
Annie earned a bachelor of arts in drama at Washington University in St. Louis in 2002 and a Professional Designation at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA in 2006.
Kevin Daut Added to Subsurface Constructors Team

Subsurface Constructors, Inc. is proud to welcome Mr. Kevin P. Daut, P.E. to our team. He will be serving as a Project Engineer of Ground Improvement Services, and his duties will include assisting in project bidding, takeoffs, plan drafting, project design, and management. Kevin joined Subsurface Constructors in August after serving as a Project Engineer and Materials Group Manager in the geotechnical consulting industry for over 9 years. Mr. Daut holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering, both from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

McCarthy Appoints Steve Miller as Central Division Safety Director

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announces the appointment of Steve Miller to Safety Director of the firm’s Central Division, a reflection of McCarthy’s industry-leading commitment to safety in construction.
In this role, Miller will oversee all aspects of the Central Division’s ongoing commitment to creating the nation’s safest work environment for its employees, subcontractors and project partners. His duties include safety training, pre-project safety planning, injury and accident management, conducting project inspections, tracking reporting compliance, safety resource hiring and placement, and overseeing injury and accident management. He will also serve on McCarthy’s Central Division leadership team to drive advancements in safety management practices.
A 16-year industry veteran, Miller has spent the majority of his construction career with McCarthy. In 2006, he was promoted to Director of Safety for MC Industrial, an independent McCarthy company.
“During his tenure at McCarthy, Steve has played an integral role in both creating and getting buy-in to a culture where safety is the most important thing we do every day,” said John Buescher, President of McCarthy’s Central Division.
Miller is a member of the St. Louis Associated General Contractors Safety and Health Committee, the Association of Union Contractors Safety and Health Committee, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the National Safety Council. He earned the Construction Health and Safety Technician certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in safety management from Central Missouri State University.
HOK’s St. Louis Practice Adds Three Design Professionals

John Pirtle, Nicole Schepers, LEED GA, and Allison Zuck have joined HOK’s design team in St. Louis.
In his new role as design professional, Pirtle will join the team working the Davidson County Justice Center in Nashville, Tenn. He worked previously as an architectural intern at Grojean Architects in Cape Girardeau. Pirtle recently earned his master of architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus in construction management and interior design from Southeast Missouri State University.

Schepers will contribute her design expertise as an interior design professional focusing on urban mixed-use projects. She joins HOK from Thalden Boyd Emery Architects, where she was an interior designer. Schepers earned her degree in interior design from Maryville University.

Zuck will also support urban mixed-use projects as a design professional. She brings previous experience as an architectural intern at FGM Architects in O’Fallon, Ill. Zuck earned her master of architecture and master of business administration from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a degree in architectural studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

S. M. Wilson Promotes Brian Mee To Project Manager

S. M. Wilson & Co, has promoted Brian Mee to Project Manager. He will be responsible for handling all administrative functions for a project, including scheduling, holding progress meetings, generating meeting minutes, tracking costs and maintaining logs for all project information.
Mee joined S. M. Wilson in 2007 as a Project Engineer and has worked on a variety of federal, retail and healthcare construction projects. He has 10 years of experience in the construction industry. Mee holds a B. S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Trivers Names Three New Associates
Trivers is pleased to announce that three Project Architects have been named Associates of the firm. The Associates serve as an advisory group to the Principals and work together to implement strategic initiatives.

Neil Chace is a Project Architect with 14 years of experience on a variety of project types. He has worked on Hope Lodge projects for the American Cancer Society in both Omaha, Nebraska and Jackson, Mississippi. Locally, he is working on the new Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Ranger Station and a new 126-unit apartment complex in Soulard. Neil is also the co-founder and President of Modern STL, a non-profit organization striving for the identification, education, preservation and celebration of St. Louis Modernism.

Ashley Hoolihan has been with Trivers for five years and is a newly licensed architect in the State of Missouri. She is currently working on the new $40M Health Professions Education Building at the University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky. Other projects in her portfolio include The Euclid and the Urban Chestnut Grove Brewery & Bierhall. Ashley is a former Design Thinking andBuilding Systems instructor at Washington University and is a member of the Society for College and University Planning and Young Friends of Downtown STL.

David Lott is a Project Architect who has spent the last eight years with Trivers. He has served a key role on some of the firm’s most visible projects including The Laurel, the 610,000 SF adaptive reuse of the former Grand Leader Department Store in downtown St. Louis. He is currently working on the expansion of the Museum of Westward Expansion as part of the CityArchRiver 2015 project as well as new affordable housing in the Grove neighborhood for Rise. David has a passion for St. Louis history and serves as a board member for the Landmarks Association of St. Louis.
