HOK St. Louis Promotes Five Firm-wide Services Personnel and Officers of the Firm

HOK recently announced more than 170 firm-wide officer promotions, including several individuals from our legal, human resources, accounting and technology groups in the St. Louis office. The new officers include:

HOK Adds Healthcare Planner

Michael Thoma, AIA, has joined HOK as a vice president and senior project manager in St. Louis. Bringing over 15 years of healthcare planning and project leadership experience, Thoma will join the architectural teams working on major academic medical center projects throughout the Midwest. Thoma previously worked for HOK from 2005-2015. He earned his degree in architecture from Mississippi State University.

BuildingPoint Mid-America, an elite group of experts that caters to the technological needs of clients with the software, hardware, and services that will best suit their requirements, is pleased to announce the addition of Corey Bell to its team of professionals. His specific focus will be on Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Services and he will be personally responsible for helping deliver VDC Services to clients. Corey notes that advancements in technology have created a pathway to help clients build better, be more accountable, and keep better records.  Corey has over 20 years of experience in construction ranging from working in the field as a carpenter and superintendent as well as roles in the office as a project manager and estimator for both large and mid-sized general contracting firms. He has experienced and helped facilitate every aspect of BIM utilization on projects as well as helping companies to develop their BIM departments throughout the last 11 years of his career.  He is also active in teaching BIM practices for many associations including the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the Carpenter’s Joint Apprenticeship Program (CJAP).

Sterling P. Wells Joins the Plumbing Industry Council

Wells has joined the Plumbing Industry Council as the new Membership Services and Education Coordinator.  Mr. Wells will be directly for all facets of Membership Services and Continuing Education for the Plumbing Industry Council. Brinkmann Constructors Promotes Nikki MacDonald To Assistant Controller

Brinkmann Constructors is pleased to announce that Nikki MacDonald has been promoted to Assistant Controller. Nikki joined Brinkmann in 2007 as an Accounts Payable Specialist and moved through the ranks to Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, and Accounting Manager. In her new role, she will be responsible for the preparation of company financial statements and supervision of Accounts Payable Specialist and Accounting Coordinators. “Throughout her career at Brinkmann, Nikki has shown her dedication to our company and the accounting department, and I am proud to have her on our team,” said Jennifer Funk, Director of Finance.

McClure Engineering Hires Kaelyn Nichols as Electrical Designer

Kaelyn Nichols joined McClure Engineering on May 2 as an Electrical Designer. Kaelyn received her Associates Degree in Electrical Design from Southwestern Illinois College and received her class certificate from McClure President, Keith Cooper’s Electrical Grounding and Bonding class. Kaelyn comes with 6 years of electrical design experience and is proficient in Revit and AutoCAD. Her former employers include: BRiC Partnership, Kuhlmann Design and most recent Aedifica Case Engineering.
