Todd Bundren Promoted to Senior Associate

Todd Bundren was recently promoted to senior associate. Bundren joined Lawrence Group in 2006 and is experienced in the design of senior living, commercial, retail, and residential projects. Bundren is LEED® AP BD+C and serves as Lawrence Group’s director of sustainability. Bundren resides in St. Louis. Lawrence Group is a building design, development, and project delivery firm headquartered in St. Louis.

New Hires at KAI

Edwin Chin has joined KAI Design & Build as Senior Mechanical Engineer. A native of New Orleans, La., Chin brings more than 30 years of mechanical engineering experience to KAI,  and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Houston. Chin is a certified Professional Engineer and a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

“We are excited to welcome Edwin Chin to the KAI family,” shared Paul Piazza, Director of MEP Engineering for KAI.  “With his extensive history in MEP, Edwin will be a valuable asset to our team,” said Paul Piazza, PE, Director of KAI’s MEP Engineering group.  “We are excited to welcome Edwin to our team.”

Chin will be working within KAI’s multi-disciplined team on the design, coordination and production of engineering construction and bid documents on complex projects. Chin will also be responsible for collaborating with lead engineers on design efforts from start to finish to ensure compliance with scope, budget and schedule at both KAI’s St. Louis and affiliate offices

Chris Mazurek  is the new Business Development Manager at KAI Design & Build.

Mazurek has more than three decades of experience in the construction industry, including project management, estimating, and general contracting, and more recently, sales strategies, client services, and business development.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Bowling Green State University. Mazurek is active in the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), International Facilities Management Association, St. Louis Regional Chamber and the Association for Corporate Growth.

“Chris has a diverse background in construction, technology and business that has proven successful,” said KAI Design & Build President Michael B. Kennedy.  “so we look forward to him strengthening our pipeline in the build community.”

As Business Development Manager, Mazurek will work to further KAI’s market position through developing new owner relationships and generating new construction leads.  Chris will also identify potential business opportunities in addition to the negotiation and closes of business deals for both KAI’s St. Louis and affiliate offices.

Mazurek resides in Creve Coeur, MO.  Outside of the office, he enjoys playing both soccer and hockey, and has been a private pilot for over 8 years.

Nesselhauf Joins Kadean Construction as Project Manager

Kevin Nesselhauf has joined Fenton-based Kadean Construction Company, one of the region’s oldest and most successful firms specializing in pre-construction, design-build, construction management, and general contracting, the company announced today.

Nesselhauf is joining the company as Project Manager. He is a 2008 and 2013 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and a Master’s degree in Business. He currently serves as the SIUE Alumni Association President, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Before joining Kadean, Nesselhauf worked the past eight years at the Phillips 66 Wood River (IL) Refinery, where he spent time as a field supervisor, turnaround manager, and as a maintenance planning and scheduling supervisor.

PGAV Destinations Expands Design Team
Destination design leader hires four architectural designers

The global planning and design firm, PGAV Destinations announced the hiring of four architectural designers for their rapidly growing destination design team. These important talent additions will support the more than $1.2 billion in master planning and design projects currently underway in 2016.

“It’s an exciting time at PGAV Destinations,” said principal and chair Mike Konzen, “With new global client partnerships and expanding projects with existing clients, we are able to recruit the most talented designers that our universities are producing. It’s fantastic to have these four join our creative team.”

Architect Marchelle Gant is a graduate of the University of Illinois where she received both her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and her Master of Architecture. She has previously worked with BLDD Architects Inc., America Reads and America Counts, and the East St. Louis Action Research Project.

Architectural designer Jinyang Liu is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Master of Architecture. He was previously interned in Beijing, China with the China Construction Engineering Design Group Corporation Limited.

Architectural designer Ian Min is an Urban Planning graduate of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou and received his Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He has previously worked on the Avian Observatory near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers with the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.

Architectural designer Joe Windler received Bachelor of Architecture degrees from both the Illinois Institute of Technology and Fakulta architektury VUT v Brnĕ. He previously worked as an architectural designer at Brininstool + Lynch, Fables Inc., and CCI Construction.
