The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois turned up the heat in the regional competition for the new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) facility Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015.
An email blast from Ellen Krohne, executive director of Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois, asked recipients to send letters to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District in support of putting NGA next to Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois.
The Metro East county is vying with St. Louis City and St. Louis County for the facility, which is currently in St. Louis City, and the jobs that will go with it.
Krohne’s missive included a link to a “fact sheet” listing the advantages of the St. Clair site, a link to an editable letter of support, and links for submitting comments online or by email.
The Corps is accepting public input on site selection until November 23.
