Nolan “Chip” Jones named AGC of Missouri Board Chairman

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. DOT Branch Manager to Lead Statewide Association in 2018 

Nolan “Chip” Jones, DOT Branch Manager for Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., has been elected the chairman of the board of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGC) for 2019.

As a 1988 Civil Engineering graduate from University of Missouri-Columbia, Jones has more than 30 years of experience in the heavy/civil construction industry, joining Emery Sapp & Sons in 1999 as a project manager.  Prior to ESS, Jones spent 10-years as an inspector for MoDOT.  He’s responsible for ESS’s 200-plus employees’ successful completion of more than $800 million in highway and bridge projects.  Chip has been heavily involved in AGCMO, serving on the board of directors since 2014 and has served on the Executive Committee and Finance Committees and the Heavy/Highway/Infrastructure board of directors since 2015.

Quadri Contractors LLC; and building division vice chair, Michael Kennedy, Jr., KAI Design & Build.

Serving on the board representing contractor members are:  Tim Hudwalker, BSI Constructors, Inc.; Troy Musson, Alberici Constructors, Inc.; Kyle Phillips, Herzog Contracting Corp.; and, Sean Thouvenot, Branco Enterprises, Inc. Serving on the board representing the AGC’s specialty contractors are:  Steve Schrimpf, Schrimpf Landscaping, Inc. and Julia Strumpler, Sachs Electric Company  Serving on the board representing the AGC’s supplier/service providers are Jackson D. Glisson III, Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C.; and K. Douglas Mertens, Con-Agg of MO, LLC.

The ex-officio board members representing the Construction Leadership Council and Young Executives Club for 2019 are Christopher Kozeny of Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. and Jeremy Bexten of Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., respectively.

Existing board members who will continue serving in 2019 include:   Paul Ideker, Ideker, Inc.; Eddie Welsh, Capital Paving and Construction, LLC; and William Wagner, S. M. Wilson & Co., immediate past chair.

S.M. Wilson & Co. Vice President to Lead Statewide Association in 2018 

William (Bill) Wagner, vice president for S.M. Wilson & Co., has been elected the chairman of the board of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGC) for 2018.

Wagner has more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry. He joined S.M. Wilson in 2001 as vice president and is responsible for overseeing the company’s healthcare and senior care market sectors.  Throughout his career, Bill has been involved in $1.2 billion of healthcare construction and has added tremendous value to S. M. Wilson’s healthcare market. In addition to serving on the AGC Executive Board of Directors, most recently as chair elect, he also serves on the board of directors of the Enterprise Bank and Trust Advisory Board, and on the Southeast Missouri State University Polytechnic Studies Advisory Committee Meeting Advisory Board.

Missouri Highway Contractor to Lead Statewide Association in 2017

Ed Twehous, vice president of Twehous Excavating Company, Inc. has been elected the chairman of the board of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGC) for 2017.    Twehous is a life-long resident of Jefferson City and has been active in the construction industry for over 40 years.  Twehous has the rare drive to deeply engage in issues and organizations in which he believes.  He has an extensive list of civic and charitable responsibilities – many related to St. Francis Xavier Parish in Taos, MO and Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City.  Twehous has served on construction industry-related boards and commissions for several municipalities in Missouri and, since 2008, has been a member of the Missouri Blasting Safety Board (appointed by Gov. Matt Blunt).

Twehous’s dedication to the construction industry doesn’t end there.  He has been deeply engaged in the Associated General Contractors for over 30 years.  He has served on the AGC of America’s Board of Directors/Governors, has been chairman of most every committee he’s served on with the AGC of Missouri and was Chairman of the AGC of Missouri in 2005, long before the merger with the AGC of St. Louis. Whether it is the governmental affairs committee, joint committees with MoDOT or DNR, or the Young Executives Club, Ed dives in with gusto.  Twehous also was instrumental in the merger of the former AGC of Missouri with the AGC of St. Louis in late 2014.
