/

By KERRY SMITH, EDITOR, ST. LOUIS CONSTRUCTION NEWS AND REVIEW MAGAZINE

Thirty general contractor exhibitors and 750 individuals attended the American Subcontractors Association Midwest Council’s annual “Meet the GCs” expo May 19 at the St. Charles Convention Center.

Normally held in January, the event was postponed until May but did not deter hundreds from showing up to engage with general contracting firms throughout the St. Louis region. ASA Midwest Council Executive Director Susan Winkelmann said the event is one of three hosted annually by the organization and provides an opportunity for subcontractors to engage with GCs to build working relationships.

“These individuals and companies have gone a year and a half since their last interaction with each other at a ‘Meet the GCs’ expo,” said Winkelmann. “This event allows people to meet face to face and solidify relationships. It’s clear from this year’s attendance, exhibitors and guests, that the time has arrived to begin meeting in person again to do business.”

This year represents the 19th consecutive ASA Midwest Council “Meet the GCs” event, according to Winkelmann.

In addition to the ASA Midwest Council, May 20 exhibitors included: Alberici Constructors, BEX Construction Services, Brinkmann Constructors, BSI Constructors, Clayco, Contegra Construction Co., Conway Contracting, Eagan Building Group, Echelon Constructors, Green Street Building Group, Holland Construction Services, IMPACT Strategies, Kadean Construction Co., KCI Construction Co., The Korte Company, L. Keeley Construction Co., McCarthy Building Companies, McGrath & Associates, PARIC, Pinnacle Contracting, Poettker Construction, Rhodey Construction, River City Construction, Russell HBD, S.M. Wilson & Co., SITELINES, Tarlton, United Construction and Wright Construction.
