Scholarships To Be Awarded By Southern Illinois Builders Association

The Education Committee, Scholarship Committee, Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Southern Illinois Builders Association has announced the availability of industry-related scholarships.

They are available to individuals who have a career goal in the Construction Management / Construction Related Engineering / Architectural fields and are planning to enroll as a full-time student and maintain full-time student status (12 hour minimum).

Applicants are required to show evidence that they are related to an individual employed full-time by an SIBA Member firm for a minimum of 2 years

The deadline to submit application and related materials is November 9, 2018 and may be sent to the Southern Illinois Builders Association Office, 1468 Green Mount Road, O’Fallon, Illinois

American Society of Concrete Contractors Awards Scholarships

The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) Education, Research and Development Foundation has awarded three scholarships to students in the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program. James Martin and Dimitry Petrov attend Middle Tennessee State University, Murpheesboro, TN and Jordan NuQue attends California State University, Chico, CA. Each received $5,000.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must be enrolled full time in the CIM program and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

The ASCC Foundation was created in 1989 to fund education and research that advances the quality and productivity of concrete construction.

MOWIT to provide scholarships to Women Building Nations 2017

 The world’s largest tradeswomen conference is set again for Chicago, October 13 – 15.  Registration is now open!

WOMEN BUILD NATIONS is for women of all ages and all skill levels who work, or aspire to work, in the construction trades. Whether you are a pre-apprentice or a seasoned journeyperson, this conference provides a unique opportunity to learn from and connect with tradeswomen from around the country and the world.

WOMEN BUILD NATIONS speaks to every tradeswoman’s needs, offering workshops and plenary sessions facilitated by tradeswomen and featuring union leaders, apprenticeship coordinators, contractors and elected officials. Workshop tracks include, but are not limited to, Recruitment & Retention; Leadership Development; Policy/Politics and Beyond the Tools.

MOWIT is providing a block of shared rooms and registration for up to 12 area tradeswomen,  and CLUW is providing an additional 5 registration fees!
