The St. Louis Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) will get a firsthand look at the University of Missouri-St. Louis’ showcase Recreation and Health Center.
Completed in the fall of 2015 on UMSL’s North Campus, members will learn more about the rec center’s maintenance needs, including heating and cooling systems. The 100,000 square-foot facility offers students, faculty and the community a range of amenities. The $36 million facility features two hardwood gym courts and a multiuse court. An elevated running track uses an inclined portion, coupled with views along glass walls, to mirror running outdoors. Other features include: a two-story climbing wall, zip line, 155,000-gallon pool, sauna, group fitness rooms, cardio and strength-training equipment, lounge areas and a pro shop.
