Originally constructed in 1971 as an armory and indoor firing range, the Edmond (Oklahoma) Readiness Center project’s scope of work includes a comprehensive interior renovation of the existing 28,000 square foot facility. Currently, the facility serves as the battalion headquarters for the Oklahoma Army National Guard 1st Battalion, 179th Regiment.
The interior space plan maximizes mission critical functions and is designed to accommodate future mission use. The design also includes open office areas, additional classrooms and conference areas as well as a fitness area, general office, heated storage/locker areas, and a recruiter’s office.
The exterior envelope of the facility is upgraded to improve energy performance. Site expansion and development are also incorporated into the overall scope.
