The Korte Company has begun construction of a 92,000 square foot facility for Spartan Light Metals located in Sparta, Illinois. Spartan Light Metal Products is a family owned aluminum and magnesium die cast manufacturing company with expertise in machining & assembly as well as design & analysis. As a global leader in light metal technology, Spartan provides engineered solutions and products to major automotive manufacturers such as Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, and Volkswagen as well as to other commercial companies including Hydro-Gear. Spartan ships its complex cast, machined, and assembled products to locations throughout the country and to international markets.
The facility includes 10 shipping docks, 4 receiving docks, warehouse/distribution space as well as office space, lunchroom and a driver’s lounge. The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by early 2017.
