ULI Salutes Responsible Land Use Leadership & Promise of St. Louis
This year’s annual look at Emerging Trends in Real Estate by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) St. Louis was also a cause for celebration. ULI saluted leadership that has guided the St. Louis chapter for 30 years and looked ahead to celebrate the promise of St. Louis in a new video. Among those honored was Richard Ward, who was presented with the first ULI St. Louis Legacy Award for his leadership in ULI locally and nationally. Ward, principal at Ward Development Counsel LLC, is a former ULI district council chairperson. He was saluted for being “an advocate of everything St. Louis and a great ambassador to the region.”
The emerging trends report ranked St. Louis 53rd overall among 78 cities for investment and development prospects. The region ranked 49th in investment and 65th in development. Maureen McAvey, principal, McAvey Consulting and a past ULI senior fellow presented the overview of the 2018 Emerging Trends in Real Estate.
ULI panelists for the emerging trends discussion included Brooks Goedeker, executive director, Midtown Redevelopment Corp.; Mike Hanrahan, senior managing director, Cushman & Wakefield; Ann Cuiellette Marr, vice president, global human resources, World Wide Technology; Ronda L. Sauget, executive director, Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois; and Christopher M. West, CEO and partner, Cullinan Properties LLP.

In addition to Ward, ULI also saluted those who served as ULI district council chairpersons since the chapter was founded in 1987 including Dick Shepard, Lewis Levey, Jack Reis, Jerry Crylen, Rodney Crim, Ron Johnson and Andy Barnes.
